Thomas getting the nod vs. Capitals

WASHINGTON, D.C.Tim Thomas will get his chance to redeem himself in the nations capital this afternoon.

After playing capably in Saturdays 2-1 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins at home, Thomas was the first goaltender onto the ice for pregame warm-ups at the Verizon Center on Sunday afternoon. Thomas will get the start against the Washington Capitals while attempting to snap a two-game losing streak for the Bruins, and the loss to the Pens represented the first game Thomas had a single-game save percentage of more than .920 since a 2-1 win over the Canadiens back on Jan. 12.

The Bs also appear to be scratching Zach Hamill after 12 straight games without a point for the Bs rookie, and have inserted Jordan Caron back into the lineup. Here are the projected lines for the Black and Gold on Super Bowl Sunday -- with a postgame Pats viewing party planned back in Boston at Tuukka Rasks house:

Marchand-Bergeron-Seguin
Lucic-Krejci-Peverley
Pouliot-Kelly-Caron
Paille-Campbell-Thornton

Chara-Boychuk
Seidenberg-Corvo
Ference-McQuaid
