Report: Calhoun returning to UConn bench

When the University of Connecticut men's basketball team takes the court Saturday against the University of Cincinnati, they'll do so with a familiar face on the sidelines.

This afternoon, the school released a statement to announce that coach Jim Calhoun has returned to his post, following a medicalleave of absence that dated back to January 19.

Iam excited to return to the team and my coaching staff, said Calhoun. I appreciate the hard work by the staff and team inmy absence and am looking forward to being back on the court forpractice this afternoon and moving forward. I am especially thankful topeople for their support during the past three weeks, but also for therespect and privacy that everyone has provided me during this time. Dr.Schulman, my primary care physician, and I both felt that the time awaywas important for my personal and professional well-being and that I amready to move ahead from this point at full speed.

The Huskies went 3-4 during Calhoun's seven game absence
