Janay Rice lashes out at critics

While the general public called for further punishment of now former Ravens running back Ray Rice, the woman he hit - his now wife, Janay Rice - is clearly not one of them.

A day after the Ravens released Rice and the NFL suspended him indefinitely after the release of a new video in which Rice is seen knocking out Janay Rice in an Atlantic City elevator, Janay Rice angrily took to her Instagram account with a message to everybody, including the media she feels is using the situation to "gain ratings".

The Baltimore Sun has verified that message was from her personal Instagram account and meant to be public. It reads:

"I woke up this morning feeling like I had a horrible nightmare, feeling like I'm mourning the death of my closest friend. But to have to accept the fact that it's reality is a nightmare in itself. No one knows the pain that [the] media & unwanted options from the public has caused my family. To make us relive a moment in our lives that we regret every day is a horrible thing. To take something away from the man I love that he has worked his ass [off] for all his life just to gain ratings is horrific.

"THIS IS OUR LIFE! What don't you all get. If your intentions were to hurt us, embarrass us, make us feel alone, take all happiness away, you've succeeded on so many levels. Just know we will continue to grow & show the world what real love is! Ravensnation we love you!"

Janay Rice refused to press charges at the time of the assault. Rice did not have to go to court for the incident, instead being accepted into a pretrial diversionary program. Rice had to complete the program over a year and his charges would be wiped from his record.

The NFL then suspended Rice for two games, drawing much criticism from the masses that the discipline was too lenient.
