Former Boston College football player Max Holloway -- son of former Patriots offensive lineman Brian Holloway and grandson of former Boston Bruins great John McKenzie -- was killed Thursday morning in an automobile accident in his hometown of Lutz, Fla.
According to Florida television station WFLA, Holloway, 26, was driving a 2008 Black Dodge Charger . . . around 2:30 a.m., when he failed to negotiate a curve in the road and struck a utility pole. The car then flipped, struck several trees and smashed into the garage of a home. The station reported that no one in the house was injured.
Hollway played at BC from 2009-11. He earned his degree in 2011 and, although he had college eligibility remaining, declared for the NFL Draft. He went unselected, and was playing for the Tampa Bay Storm of the Arena Football League at the time of his death.
