Carter's heart remains in New England

INDIANAPOLIS -- Andre Carter told me last month that he had no plans to find a new employer."It's just a fun place to play so why not come back and hopefully finish my career as a Patriot," Carter said. On Friday, his agent Carl Poston told reporters at the NFL Combine that Carter's stance hasn't changed. But Poston added that the ball is in the Patriots' court.
"We would like to think(the Patriots would)be interested in keeping him on a long-term basis, but it takes two to dance," Poston said.Carter tore his quadriceps in mid-December against the Broncos. He was having a sensational season as the Patriots best pass rusher until that point. Poston said Carter's rehab is going well. "He's in good shape, ahead on his rehab," Poston said. "It's not the kind of injury like a lower back or knee, where he's not going to be able to come back 100 percent. In fact, he might be even be stronger."
