Boston University associate head coach Albie O'Connell has moved up the Terriers bench and will be named BU head coach at a press conference Wednesday, the school announced.
O'Connell succeeds David Quinn, who took over for BU legend Jack Parker five years ago and left last month to become head coach of the New York Rangers.
O'Connell, a BU assistant since 2014 and associate head coach since 2015, played in two Frozen Fours as a Terriers player and was team captain as a senior in 1998-99.
