But even nerves can't explain just what the heck one Los Angeles Lakers fan was thinking Friday night.
A fellow named David took the Staples Center court during L.A.'s game against the Utah Jazz to participate in a pretty straightforward contest: He simply had to guess whether the number on the next card shown would be higher or lower than the number on the previous card.
Not too hard, right? Let's roll the tape:
Woof.

David: "Lower."
Emcee: "Lower." *Uncomfortably long pause.* "Well ... All right, it looks like your luck ran out."
Is David trolling us all, or does he actually not understand how numbers work?
If it's the latter, bless David's heart, although it might mean he's blissfully unaware the Lakers have one fewer NBA title than their longtime rival Boston Celtics.
