Vincent Poirier won't soon forget his first NBA basket -- in part because it came on a pretty awesome play.
The Boston Celtics big man made his NBA debut Saturday night against the New York Knicks after sitting out the team's first two games.
And after missing a layup in the second quarter, Poirier finally got on the board in the third with an emphatic finish of a Gordon Hayward alley-oop lob.
Kemba Walker got the sequence started by pouncing on a loose ball and making a nice cross-court pass to Hayward, who found the French big man for the slam.
Poirier was thrust into action after big men Enes Kanter and Daniel Theis were ruled out due to injuries.
The 26-year-old starred in the EuroLeague last season before signing with the Celtics in July, and it appears he's already adding some needed depth up front.
