The Boston Celtics got their preseason underway on Sunday night. And right away, they saw a familiar face in a new uniform.
The Celtics' first opponent of the preseason was the Charlotte Hornets. The Hornets, of course, are Kemba Walker's former team, and their newest point guard used to play in Boston. That would be Terry Rozier.
Rozier was traded to the Hornets as part of a sign-and-trade for the Celtics to acquire Walker. Despite his departure, the Celtics faithful are harboring no ill-will toward their former backup point guard and showered him with applause during player introductions.
Here's a look at Rozier's introduction from the Celtics on NBC Sports Boston's official Twitter account.
This is certainly a decent gesture from the Celtics fans and it's one that Rozier deserved. Rozier, affectionately known as "Scary Terry", averaged 10.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game in his final two years in Boston while mostly serving as a top bench option and spot starter.
And now, he'll get his long-awaited chance to start full-time for Charlotte.
