NBA teams searching for bench scoring may need to start seriously considering Isaiah Thomas as an option.
The former Boston Celtics star put on a show in his second appearance with the Denver Nuggets' G League affiliate, the Grand Rapids Gold. After dropping 42 points in his Grand Rapids debut, Thomas exploded for 45 on Wednesday to tie the most points scored in the G League this season.

Thomas shot 14-for-27 from the field and 5-for-14 from 3-point range. He also added five assists and three rebounds to his stat line.
While a Celtics reunion still seems unlikely, Thomas continues to make the case for why he should be on an NBA roster. The 33-year-old joined the Los Angeles Lakers and Dallas Mavericks on 10-day contracts earlier in the season, but "The Little Guy" remains hell-bent on earning a full-time role.
Despite Thomas' scoring outburst, Grand Rapids fell to the Windy City Bulls in overtime, 117-116.
