Enes Kanter has made his living in the NBA in the low post and on the glass. While he's very useful down there, the NBA has trended outside the three-point line, making traditional bigs obsolete in a sense.
When the Celtics signed Kanter to a two-year, $10 million deal, they not only saw a way to maximize his strengths down low, but believed Kanter could evolve into a stretch big.
Kanter is emphasizing his jump shot while preparing for the upcoming season and shared a hilarious interaction with Danny Ainge where he urged the Turkish big man to take more threes, in his own way.
In the latest video Kanter tweeted, he can be seen knocking down several looks from the mid-range. Yes, they aren't threes, but it's a gradual development to gain consistency from deep.

His form looks pretty good. It's relatively smooth, doesn't appear have any bad hitches to it and he could definitely speed up his release as he continues to work.

The Celtics don't have an obvious fix to fill the void Al Horford left when he signed with the Sixers, but if Kanter can develop his jumper and be a threat from three, he could give Brad Stevens' offense more diversity. With Kemba Walker, Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and Gordon Hayward, that offense would be really tough to stop.
