BOSTON – Boston Celtics rookie sensation Jayson Tatum suffered a dislocated pinky in the first quarter against the Miami Heat.

The incident occurred when he was diving for a loose ball, and it appears his hand was accidentally stepped on by Miami’s Josh Richardson.

He returned to the bench at the 3:03 mark of the first quarter and was greeted by cheers from the Celtics crowd.

“It looked worse than it felt,” Tatum told NBC Sports Boston’s Abby Chin at halftime. “I’ve never dislocated my finger. . . It just looked nasty, but I’m good.”
