UNCASVILLE, Conn. – Terry Rozier had his day end earlier than expected after suffering a cut lip in the second quarter of the Celtics preseason game against the Charlotte Hornets at Mohegan Sun Arena.
Charlotte’s Christian Wood was driving to the lane when Rozier, trying to limit his penetration, was hit with an elbow from Woods. The incident occurred with 7:42 to play in the second quarter.
Head trainer Ed Lacerte immediately came on to the court with a towel for Rozier’s cut lip. Team officials said Rozier would not return, adding that he was in the middle of having the lip stitched up. Rozier needed seven stitches to close the cut.
Rozier had four points and two rebounds at the time of the injury, while playing seven minutes.
