Romeo Langford, Daniel Theis out for Celtics preseason opener, Brad Stevens sets minutes restriction

Celtics fans will have to wait at least another five days to get a glimpse at Boston's 2019 lottery pick.

Romeo Langford, who suffered a groin injury this week during practice, will not play in the Celtics' preseason opener against the Hornets Sunday night. Daniel Theis is also out with an adductor strain, according to Chris Forsberg.

Brad Stevens also said that no player will play more than 25 minutes in Sunday's game. Kemba Walker, Jayson Tatum, Marcus Smart and Jaylen Brown all participated in the FIBA World Cup, so there's no need to risk injury with three preseason games let after this one.

The starting lineup will feature Walker, Brown Tatum, Gordon Hayward and Robert Williams, so there's a good chance for some high-paced offense and lobs at the rim for TimeLord.

Meanwhile, Terry Rozier is expected to play and make his first appearance against the Celtics in a different uniform. He signed a three-year, $58 million contract with the Hornets this summer.

The Celtics and Hornets are scheduled to tip-off at 6 p.m. EST at TD Garden.
