Reports: Pacers close to trading Hibbert to Lakers

The Indiana Pacers are close to a trade that would send center Roy Hibbert to the Lakers for a future second-round pick, according to multiple sources, including Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski.

The deal allows the Pacers to shed themselves of Hibbert's more than $15 million salary, after they reached agreement with free agent guard Monta Ellis on a four-year, $44 million deal, and adds the 7-foot-2 Hibbert to a Lakers frontcourt after Los Angeles lost out on coveted free agent big man LaMarcus Aldridge to the San Antonio Spurs.
