Marcus Smart is not hitting NBA free agency next summer.

Smart and the Boston Celtics have agreed to a four-year, $77 million contract extension, per ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. If you include the final year remaining on Smart's current contract, he will receive around $90 million from the C's through the 2025-26 season.

ESPN's NBA front office insider Bobby Marks broke down the yearly salary numbers in Smart's deal:

Smart was selected by the Celtics with the No. 6 pick in the 2014 NBA Draft. He has become an important part of the roster over the last seven seasons as an elite defender, a quality playmaker and an improved scorer/shooter.

The 27-year-old guard's strongest impact comes on the defensive end of the floor. He earned back-to-back selections to the All-Defensive first team for the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons.Β
