The Markelle Fultz era in Philadelphia may soon be coming to a sad and abrupt end.
Along with seeing a shoulder specialist next week, Fultz will have his wrist examined. As the 76ers' No. 1 pick in the 2017 NBA Draft takes some time away to correct his bizarre shooting struggles, it looks like he "would prefer a fresh start with a new team," according to The Athletic.
Fultz will always be connected to the Celtics after Danny Ainge traded the 2017 No. 1 overall pick to Philadelphia for the No. 3 pick (Jayson Tatum) and a future first-rounder. Needless to say, it has worked out in the C's favor as Tatum is on track for stardom while Fultz continues to struggle getting on the court.
UPDATE: According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, Fultz's agent refutes the report that his client has requested a trade.
