Report: Celtics still talking Gordon trade with Magic after Fournier move

The Boston Celtics are finalizing a deal with the Orlando Magic to acquire veteran guard Evan Fournier in exchange for two second-round draft picks, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

This deal reportedly does not mean Boston is out of the Aaron Gordon sweepstakes, though.

The Celtics have serious interest in the Magic forward, per multiple reports, and according to Keith Smith of Yahoo! Sports, the two teams are still talking about a Gordon trade despite the Fournier deal.

Gordon is "eager" to be traded to the Celtics, according to The Athletic. The C's aren't the only team showing interest in the 25-year-old veteran, however. The Denver Nuggets also are in the mix and reportedly have "emerged as the leading candidate" to get him.

Gordon is averaging 14.6 points and 6.6 rebounds per game this season, along with a 37.5 shooting percentage on 3-point attempts. He is signed through the 2021-22 season, so he's not a rental.

The trade deadline is 3 p.m. ET on Thursday.
