The Boston Celtics need a point guard and there are a couple good options in NBA free agency, which begins Monday at 6 p.m. ET.
One talented point guard hitting the market is Spencer Dinwiddie.
The 28-year-old guard has spent the past five years with the Brooklyn Nets, although he played in only three games last season after tearing his ACL in December.

Could Dinwiddie be an option for the Celtics in free agency?
"Unsurprisingly, Boston’s brass isn’t too comfortable opening the season with a point guard depth chart topped by Marcus Smart and Payton Pritchard," Sports Illustrated's Chris Mannix wrote Monday.
"There’s internal interest in Nets point guard Spencer Dinwiddie, though acquiring Dinwiddie—who told SI’s Howard Beck that he is seeking a contract in the five-year, $125 million range—gets financially complicated."

Forsberg: Names that should be on Stevens' free agency call list
It makes little sense for Boston to give Dinwiddie anything near a five-year, $125 million contract. Dinwiddie is a solid player and scored a career-high 20.6 points per game in his last healthy season (2019-20), but $25 million per year would be an overpay for a player of his caliber.
A better point guard option for the Celtics in free agency is Patty Mills. Mills has more experience and is more durable than Dinwiddie. He doesn't have Dinwiddie's offensive upside, but Mills has shot a more-than-respectable 38.8 percent from 3-point range in his career.
Either way, the Celtics definitely need another point guard, preferably one who can shoot well from the outside and create good looks for Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum.
