Report: Celtics first-rounder Langford not cleared for summer league practice after thumb surgery

Celtics first-round draft pick Romeo Langford's availability for summer league remains in question as he continues to recover from surgery on his right thumb.

Adam Himmelsbach of the Boston Globe reports that Langford, the 14th overall pick, has yet to be cleared for full participation in practice.

The Celtics begin summer league play July 6 in Las Vegas against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Langford, played through the torn ligaments in the thumb this season at Indiana (a contributing factor to his 27 percent shooting on 3-pointers). He didn't work out for teams leading up to draft after the surgery and, on doctor's orders, only began dribbling and shooting about two weeks ago.
