NBA rumors: Brad Wanamaker returning to Celtics on one-year contract

Brad Wanamaker is coming back to the Boston Celtics.

The 29-year-old point guard was an unrestricted free agent and has come to terms on a one-year contract with the Celtics, per ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Wanamaker spent the 2018-19 season with the Celtics but saw limited playing time behind starting point guard Kyrie Irving and backup Terry Rozier. Irving and Rozier will be leaving for the Brooklyn Nets and Charlotte Hornets, respectively, in free agency, potentially opening up a larger role for Wanamaker next season.

The Celtics reportedly have agreed to sign Hornets star Kemba Walker to a four-year, $141 million max contract to be their starting point guard for the foreseeable future.

Wanamaker averaged 3.9 points and 1.6 assists over 9.5 minutes in 36 games for Boston last season.
