NEW YORK -- Marcus Morris had reportedly committed to play with the San Antonio Spurs, but a change of heart led him to New York.
The Spurs’ fans let him have it in the Knicks opener, and Morris dropped 26 on them.
Could the Boston Celtics be next?
Morris, speaking to a handful of reporters prior to tonight’s game between Boston and New York, addressed the contact - or rather lack of contact - he had with the Celtics this summer when he became an unrestricted free agent.
The 6-foot-8 Morris said he did not receive a call from the Celtics, a surprising move he thought considering the season he had and the impact that he had on the team’s success.

“I guess that’s the business,” Morris said. “I thought I at least deserved a phone call but it is what it is.”
Morris said he’s happy with how things have turned out which led him to New York (and a one-year, $15 million contract), but added that Boston will “always have a place in my heart.”
And if you know anything about Morris, he'll be more than happy to break that heart with a big game tonight.
And if you ask him about it afterwards, he'll tell you ... "It is what it is."
