Kyrie did something no Celtic had done since 2005

How rare was Kyrie Irving's 40-point, 10 rebound performance in the Celtics' 121-114 overtime victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on Christmas Day?

It was the first 40-10 game of Kyrie's career.

It was the first 40-10 game for the Celtics since Paul Pierce pulled it off in 2005. And to pull it off on Christmas? You've got to go back to Tom Heinsohn in 1961.

Pierce's was actually a 50-point, 15-rebound game in a 106-102 loss to the Chicago Bulls on Dec. 2, 2005.

Heinsohn's was a 45-point performance in a Christmas victory over the Syracuse Nationals.  Irving's 40 are the second-most points scored by a Celtic on Christmas.
