Before the Boston Celtics' home opener against the Toronto Raptors, one of their newest members took some time to appreciate the Boston crowd.

Kemba Walker, the team's big free-agent acquisition, addressed the TD Garden crowd and kept his message short and sweet. Here's a look at his speech, via the Celtics on NBC Sports Boston Twitter account.

And here's a transcription of Walker's brief address:

"On behalf of my teammates, the coaching staff, the whole organization, I want to thank everyone for supporting us," Walker said. "We promise you guys to work extremely hard all year, go hard all year, let's get this thing going. Go Celtics. Let's go."

Walker chose to join the Celtics, in part, because of their history of being a winning organization. Sure, the $141 million over four years didn't hurt, but he could've gotten that from a number of different teams. He wanted to come to Boston and deliver a championship to the storied franchise. And it certainly seems like he's ready to work for that.
