Jerebko (ankle) misses end of Celtics' practice

WALTHAM, Mass. – The Celtics closed out practice on Friday short-handed with Jonas Jerebko on the sideline with a sore left ankle injury.

Celtics coach Brad Stevens said Jerebko, one of the team’s key reserves off the bench this season, was held out of the latter stages of practice on Friday because of the injury.

“Jonas went through most of practice; just a little bit sore,” Stevens said of Jerebko's ankle. “It’s something that we anticipate him being available, but we just let him sit out the last 15 minutes or so.”

Jerebko has appeared 58 games this season for the Celtics, averaging 4.0 points and 3.4 rebounds while shooting 40.8 percent from the field and 39.1 percent on 3s.

He becomes the latest Celtic dealing with some type of physical ailment.

The 6-foot-10 forward joins Isaiah Thomas (left wrist) and Marcus Smart (right thumb) among players coping with injuries that while providing discomfort, aren’t serious enough to keep them off the floor.

However, the same can’t be said for Kelly Olynyk who has a sprained right shoulder injury that’s expected to keep him out for at least another two weeks.
