Friday night's Celtics-Knicks matchup did not disappoint.

The game came down to the final seconds, and for a moment it looked like New York was about to send C's fans home from TD Garden with a sour taste in their mouths as ex-Celtic Marcus Morris drilled a game-tying 3-pointer with 4.7 seconds left in the fourth quarter.

But then it was Jayson Tatum stepping up when it mattered most. With 1.3 seconds left on the game clock, the 21-year-old responded with the game-winner.

After celebrating the 104-102 victory with his teammates, Tatum caught up with NBC Sports Boston's Abby Chin.

"We had a bunch of different options. [Marcus] Smart threw it to me, so I had to make a play," Tatum said.

C's overcoming 3-point woes is great sign for title chances

Of course, he couldn't help but wish he hit the shot over his former teammate rather than R.J. Barrett.

"I wanted [Marcus Morris] to be guarding me," Tatum told Chin. "But I'll take it any way I can get it."

Now 4-1 on the season, Tatum and the C's head to Cleveland on Tuesday to take on the Cavaliers. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m., and you can watch right here on NBC Sports Boston.
