Jaylen Brown out for Celtics-Timberwolves; here's new starting five

The Boston Celtics aren't taking any chances with Jaylen Brown.

The Celtics swingman has been ruled out for Saturday night's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. He initially was listed as doubtful with a low right back bruise.

Brown has missed Boston's last two games since landing hard on his back last Saturday versus the Dallas Mavericks.

He was spotted warming up at Target Center, but considering the Celtics don't play again until Thursday, holding him out of Saturday's contest makes sense to allow for a full recovery.

The C's will welcome back Al Horford, who sat out Friday's blowout win over the Cleveland Cavaliers at TD Garden but will return to the starting lineup Saturday night. Here's the starting five head coach Brad Stevens hinted he'll roll out against the Wolves:

  • Kyrie Irving
  • Marcus Smart
  • Jayson Tatum
  • Marcus Morris
  • Al Horford

Tip-off in Minnesota is set for 8 p.m. ET.
