Isaiah Thomas has thoughts about Celtics' last-second loss to Wizards in 2017

Isaiah Thomas was in a nostalgic mood Saturday about two teams he knows quite well.

It's been just over three years since Thomas' Boston Celtics went the distance with the Washington Wizards in an epic 2017 Eastern Conference Semifinals matchup.

The Celtics went on to win in seven games, but the only reason there was a Game 7 was because Wizards star John Wall hit a dagger 3-pointer with 3.5 seconds to play in Game 6 to lift Washington to a 92-91 win.

Thomas was Wall's teammate in Washington this season until the Wizards traded him in February, though, so the free-agent point guard played both sides of the fence while reminiscing about that game.

Thomas apparently was lamenting his turnover with 1:15 to play that led to a Bradley Beal 3-pointer and helped the Wizards cut a five-point deficit to two.

That was one of I.T.'s lone blemishes in the series, however: The All-Star point guard famously went off for 53 points in Game 2 and dropped a team-high 29 points at TD Garden in Game 7, willing the Celtics to the Eastern Conference Finals while still grieving his sister's tragic death.

Thomas has hit several roadblocks since that 2017 series. He's played for four teams over the last three seasons after undergoing hip surgery following the 2017 playoffs and is currently a free agent.

But it wasn't long ago that "The Little Guy" was getting big buckets in Boston to stave off the heroics of his future teammate.
