The one who got away from the Boston Celtics has been a smashing success with his new team.
The Celtics travel to Ball Arena on Sunday to face the Denver Nuggets, who have won eight in a row since acquiring Aaron Gordon at the NBA trade deadline.
Boston reportedly was a top suitor for Gordon, but the athletic forward looks like a great fit in Denver, where's he's averaging 12.3 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game while serving as a talented third option behind big man Nikola Jokic and guard Jamal Murray.

Forsberg: What we liked about Tatum's career night, beyond the stats
The Celtics have won four of their last five to climb back over .500 (27-26), but only one of those wins was against a team with a winning record, so Sunday will be a huge test against the NBA's hottest team.
Evan Fournier remains out for the C's in health and safety protocols, while All-Stars Jaylen Brown (left knee soreness) and Jayson Tatum (illness, non-COVID) are both listed as questionable for Sunday.
