Halftime stars, studs and duds: Hayward filling up the stat sheet

Here are the Stars, Studs and Duds from the first half with the Boston Celtics ahead 59-57.

Kyrie Irving

He didn’t shoot the ball particularly well, but he came on in the second quarter and finished with 10 points on 3-for-8 shooting to lead all scorers at the half.

Gordon Hayward

He filled up the stat sheet in several categories after two quarters of play, scoring nine points to go with five assists.

J.J. Redick

The Sixers had several long-range shooters on point in the first half, with Redick leading the charge. He had nine points at the half which included making both of his 3-point attempts.

Marcus Smart

The red-hot shooting we saw in his first preseason game last week remains alive and well for the fourth-year Smart. At the half he had seven points, three rebounds and two assists.

Jayson Tatum

Making his first start of the season, Tatum made his first three shots of the night and went into the half with 7 points.

Terry Rozier

It didn’t take Rozier long to make his presence felt out on the floor. At the half, he had seven points in just under 12 minutes of court time.

Ben Simmons

He had five points on 2-for-5 shooting, but his turnovers came far too early and often. At the half, he had four turnovers with only three assists, not to mention he was whistled for three personal fouls.
