If only Gordon Hayward could face the Timberwolves every night.
Just over a month after Hayward torched the T'Wolves for a then-season-high 30 points in a win in Minnesota, he one-upped himself with a 35-point night Wednesday at TD Garden.
Just how impressive was the performance? It's tied for the fourth-most points off the bench in Celtics history.
Unfortunately for Hayward and the C's, Wednesday was the last meeting of the season against the Timberwolves, who have had no answers for the forward this season.
Hayward is averaging 32.5 points per game on 64.7 percent shooting from the floor and 66.7 percent from 3-point land this season, absolutely dwarfing his numbers against the rest of the NBA (9.7 ppg, 39.1% FG, 29.1% 3-pt FG).
While it has been evident that Hayward has owned Tom Thibodeau's club this season, it's now official: just ask Wikipedia.
And there's yet another reason why the Celtics would be happy to have Minnesota pay a return visit to the parquet.
Wednesday's win was the Celtics' 13th consecutive home win over Minnesota, their longest active home win streak against any opponent. Boston hasn't lost a home game to the Timberwolves since 2005, when Kevin Garnett still played for Minnesota.
