The Detroit Pistons lost one of their key rotation players in the first half against the Boston Celtics on Saturday after a play you rarely see in the NBA.
Pistons wing Hamidou Diallo was ejected midway through the second quarter for making contact with official Zach Zarba. Here's the play in question: Just after the 2-minute mark in the video, you can see Diallo extend his right arm into Zarba's chest as he runs downcourt.

While Diallo's motives for pushing Zarba were unclear, it's possible the fourth-year guard was just trying to regain his balance or use Zarba as momentum to carry him back onto the court.
But another angle at the 2:30 mark shows that Diallo did appear to have enough room to avoid Zarba, so perhaps that's why they deemed his shove worthy of an ejection.
Diallo entered the game averaging 11.3 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.3 assists for Detroit over 22.5 minutes per game.
