The Boston Celtics have yet to make a major splash in free agency, but some help from its 2020 draft class appears ready to head stateside.
Yam Madar, Boston's second-round pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, announced Tuesday his intentions of joining the Celtics for the 2021-22 season.
"I feel comfortable in my game," Madar said prior to a team practice ahead of the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. "It's a new level, it's a new challenge. I work really hard. I prepared myself for this moment to come."

The 47th overall pick in 2020, Madar, a 6-foot-3, right-handed point guard from Israel, is 20 years old.
Madar has played for Hapoel Tel Aviv in the Israeli Premier League since 2018, winning Most Improved Player honors in 2020. A member of the All-League Second Team in 2021, he averaged 17.1 points per game over 30 contests.
Other players behind Marcus Smart on the depth chart at point guard for the Celtics include Payton Pritchard, Tremont Waters, Carsen Edwards and the recently-acquired Kris Dunn.
