Classic Celtics: Watch C's best NBA Finals games against rival Lakers

Our "Classic Celtics" series has celebrated some of the most memorable moments in Boston Celtics history.

If you've noticed, many of those moments involve the Los Angeles Lakers.

So, NBC Sports Boston is devoting a whole week to the Celtics-Lakers rivalry, which some consider the best in sports. We'll re-broadcast three epic Celtics-Lakers matchups over a five-day span, beginning Monday night with a 1984 NBA Finals thriller.

Best of Celtics-Lakers Week

Monday, May 4, 8 p.m. - Celtics vs. Lakers, 1984 NBA Finals Game 4
Kevin McHale heats up the rivalry by clothes-lining Kurt Rambis on a breakaway layup. The Celtics keep their composure to win 129-125 in overtime behind Larry Bird's 29 points and 11 rebounds.

Wednesday, May 6, 8 p.m. - Celtics vs. Lakers, 1984 NBA Finals Game 5
The rivalry literally heats up in the famous "Heat Game" at Boston Garden, where temperatures reach the 90s without air conditioning.

Friday, May 8, 8 p.m. - Celtics vs. Lakers, 2008 NBA Finals Game 4
The Lakers lead by as many as 24 points, but Paul Pierce leads the C's on an epic comeback to stun L.A. at the Staples Center.

The action begins Monday at 8 p.m., with Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge joining Brian Scalabrine for additional color commentary for the Game 4 of the 1984 NBA Finals.
