Celtics without Brown, Morris and Ojeleye against Hornets

As expected, the Celtics will be short-handed tonight when they take on the Hornets in Charlotte. Coach Brad Stevens said that Jaylen Brown (leg injury) will not play tonight, and Boston will also be without Marcus Morris (left knee) and Semi Ojeleye (back).
Getting the starting nod for Brown will be Marcus Smart, who will be making his eighth start of the season. In his previous seven, he has averaged 10.0 points, 3.7 rebounds and 5.4 assists while shooting 37.5 percent from the field and 33.3 percent on 3’s.
While Smart has often been criticized for his shooting, he has been in a relatively good rhythm of late. He comes into tonight’s game having scored in double figures in six straight games, which matches the longest such streak in his career. In Boston’s last six games, he has shot 43.8 percent from 3-point range.

The Celtics will need as many long-range shot-makers as possible tonight against a Hornets defense that has allowed opponents to shoot 34.9 percent from 3-point range. That ranks sixth in 3-point defense.
