After an impressive showing in Celtics Summer League, rookie Carsen Edwards is ready to perform on the big stage.
Edwards, who was selected with the No. 33 overall pick in this year's NBA Draft, put his scoring prowess on display by averaging 19.4 points on 47.9 percent shooting in five summer league games. The 21-year-old point guard already has signed with Adidas and given C's fans plenty of reasons to get excited about his inaugural season.
During one of Edwards' workouts at the Auerbach Center, videographer Corey Porter caught up with the Purdue product to discuss his thoughts on starting his NBA journey in Boston.
“Team-wise I feel like it’s one of the best organizations to start at,” Edwards told Porter. “Just the winning mentality, all the skill they have here ... The city, the sports they have here, the fanbase they have in Boston, I feel like it’s a good setup for me. So I’m just trying to earn a spot here and stay here.”
Edwards also expressed his excitement to learn from new C's point guard Kemba Walker.
“That’s the crazy part about it,” Edwards said. “I’ve looked up his game studies and studied his game so much, it seems almost unreal to be able to be playing with him. … I’m just hoping I can learn from him.”

Edwards says his goals for his rookie season are "just to stick" and to "help the team win." If his summer league performance is a harbinger of what's to come, then those goals absolutely are in reach.
The Celtics clearly agree with that sentiment, as they recently signed Edwards to a four-year contract.
