Celtics have no problem corralling the Mavericks

BOSTON -- Here are the Stars, Studs and Duds from Boston’s 114-93 victory over the Dallas Mavericks.

STARS

Jaylen Brown: Getting a chance to start with Marcus Morris (neck) out, Brown continued his aggressive style of basketball lately that’s paying off handsomely. He had 21 points on 9-for-15 shooting from the field.

Luka Doncic: The hype train is pretty full right now when it comes to Doncic. After seeing him up close for the first time, let’s be clear: the hype is real. He had 19 points and nine rebounds, but that doesn’t begin to speak to how comfortable this 19-year-old rookie is on the floor. There’s little doubt that the torch for greatness in Dallas is being passed on from Dirk Nowitzki to the team’s teen phenom.

STUDS

Gordon Hayward: Coming off a season-high 35 points on Wednesday, Hayward’s play on Friday against the Mavericks was exactly what you wanted to see to start giving serious consideration to him having turned the corner. Hayward flirted with a triple-double before finishing with 16 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists.

20 Under 25: Jordan Walsh's development is crucial for future Celtics

How Celtics can still advance as wild card in NBA Cup

DeAndre Jordan: It seems whenever this dude shows up at the TD Garden, he finds a way to show out with a strong game. Friday night was no different as Jordan tallied a double-double of 12 points and a game-high 15 rebounds.

Jayson Tatum: His ability to get it going offensively early on was a big factor in Boston taking control early and never relenting. He would finish with 18 points and six rebounds.

Al Horford: It was one of those nights when Al Horford was filling up the stat sheet, finishing with a near triple-double of 10 points, eight rebounds and eight assists.

DUDS

Terry Rozier: You love the seven assists without a single turnover by Terry Rozier, but you would have liked to have seen him shoot the ball better as he missed seven of his nine shot attempts and finished with eight points.
