Enes Kanter usually calls out the Turkish government on his Twitter feed, but Saturday he called out another entity that he compared to the hard-line regime of his native country.
The NCAA.
The injured Celtics center criticized college sports' governing body for its decision to rule Memphis freshman James Wiseman, projected by many to be the No. 1 pick in next June's NBA draft, ineligible. The NCAA said Wiseman's family was provided $11,500 to help move to Memphis by former NBA star Penny Hardaway before Hardaway became Memphis' coach.
A judge intervened and temporarily halted the NCAA's ruling, allowing Wiseman to play Friday night.
Kanter, an outspoken critic of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his government, had his own run-ins with the NCAA, too.

After signing to play at Kentucky in 2010, the NCAA declared the 6-10 center permanently ineligible because he received approximately $33,000 from Fenerbahçe of the EuroLeague. That ended his brief college career before he was drafted No. 3 overall by the Utah Jazz in 2011.
