BOSTON – Jaylen Brown, out for Monday’s win at New Orleans with a lower back bruise, will not practice today for the Boston Celtics.
Celtics head coach Brad Stevens said the 6-foot-7 forward is making progress.
“Don’t know anything beyond that,” Stevens said.
Fortunately for Brown and the Celtics, he will have plenty of downtime before Boston’s next game.
The Celtics don’t return to action until Friday when they host the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Brown’s injury occurred against the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday when he landed awkwardly on his back.
Marcus Smart replaced Brown in the starting lineup in Boston’s 124-107 win over the New Orleans Pelicans.

While Stevens has not made any concrete decisions on who will start against the Cavs, he will give serious consideration to keeping Smart with the first unit.
