If Anthony Davis' potential trade to the Boston Celtics was a stock, let's just say it's dropped over the last two days.
The sports betting site OddsShark released its latest odds for which team Davis will begin the 2019-20 season with after his public trade request from the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday. And Celtics fans may not like them.
The Los Angeles Lakers are the current +150 favorites to trade for Davis, ahead of the C's at +175. That's a big change from less than 24 hours ago, when L.A. actually trailed Boston at +300 odds to acquire Davis.
So, why the shift? For one, Davis requesting a trade before the NBA trade deadline is bad news for the Celtics, who can't acquire Davis without parting with Kyrie Irving due to the Rose Rule.
Then there was report Monday night that there's a "growing belief of uncertainty" Irving re-signs in Boston this summer, followed by another report he's "genuinely interested" in reuniting with LeBron James in L.A. Add in the fact that James and Davis share the same agent -- Rich Paul of Klutch Sports -- and there are signs pointing Davis to the Lakers instead of the Celtics.

Make no mistake, though: The C's are very much in the race at +175 odds. And considering they have the strongest assets to offer New Orleans in a trade, those odds could improve considerably if the Pelicans don't move Davis before Feb. 7.
