Kyrie is reportedly no longer "ghosting" the Celtics. In fact, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic, he never really was.
Charania reports, on the heels of the earlier report Tuesday night of Al Horford's impending departure, that Irving has been "communicative and forthright" - contrary to earlier reports of the mercurial free agent guard "ghosting" his soon-to-be former team.
The news - while not a surprise given the reports of Brooklyn being Irving's destination the past few weeks - does lend an air of finality to Irving's decision, particularly after the Celtics lost out to the Lakers in the Anthony Davis sweepstakes and now Horford's apparent decision to opt out and move on.
Charania reported Monday that Irving was to meet with Celtics management before the draft on Thursday night. Perhaps this news came ahead of - or emerged from - that meetings.
Marc Stein of the New York Times reports the Nets believe they're the frontrunners for Irving.
