Talking Points: Bradley Jr. does it all for Red Sox

Share

STAR OF THE GAME: Jackie Bradley Jr.

Bradley did it all for the Red Sox, making two terrific catches in left field and swatting a two-run opposite-field homer.

HONORABLE MENTION: Eduardo Rodriguez

In his final start of the season, Rodriguez was especially sharp, allowing just a run over six innings while earning his 10th win of the season.

GOAT OF THE GAME: Ivan Nova didn't pitch badly, but without much offensive support, allowing two two-run homers doomed his team's chances.

TURNING POINT: Bradley's two-run homer in the seventh turned a 2-1 lead into 4-1 advantage and gave the Red Sox bullpen a little room to breathe over the final three innings.

BY THE NUMBERS: Rodriguez became the first rookie lefthanded pitcher in the last 100 years to have 11 games in which he allowed one or no runs in his first 21 major league starts.
