NEW YORK -- Eduardo Rodriguez ended his rookie season on a high note.

The lefty starter limited the New York Yankees to a single run over six innings and got two-run homers from both Travis Shaw and Jackie Bradley Jr., leading the Red Sox to a 5-1 victory over the New York Yankees.

The victory, Boston's fourth in a row, saw the team's run of dominant pitching performances continue. In the last four games, the Red Sox have allowed a total of one run.

The Yankees snapped the Sox' 29-inning scoreless streak in the first when Jacoby Ellsbury doubles, was sacrificed to third and trotted home on a sacrifice fly from Alex Rodriguez.

But that was the last run of the night for the Yankees. Rodriguez, making his final start of the season because of a team-imposed innings limit, blanked the Yankees the rest of the way, allowing a total of seven hits and a walk with seven strikeouts.

Rodriguez pitched out of difficulty on a number of occasions, highlighted by the second inning when he fanned Rodriguez on a 96 mph fastball with the bases loaded.

The start marked the 11th time this season that Rodriguez had limited the opposition to one run or no runs. He became the first Red Sox rookie lefty since John Curtis in 1972 to reach double figures in wins. Rodriguez finished the season with a 3.85 ERA.

The Red Sox were themselves shut down by Ivan Nova through the first five innings, managing just three hits.

But Shaw, who entered the game with an 0-for-16 skid, singled in each of his first two trips to the plate before smoking a line drive into the seats in right in the sixth, scoring Xander Bogaerts (double) ahead of him.

An inning later, the Sox added to their lead, and again, used a two-run homer as their weapon of choice. Bradley, who had earlier made two terrific plays in the outfield, drove a pitch the other way, just clearing the left field wall.

The Sox closed out the scoring in the ninth on a solo homer by Deven Marrero, his first homer in the big leagues.
