David Ortiz was released from the hospital Friday, a key milestone in his recovery from a gunshot wound he suffered in the Dominican Republic on June 10, according to Marly Rivera and Enrique Rojas.
Ortiz underwent two surgeries a day after the shooting to repair damage to his liver and intestines and had a third surgery over two weeks ago to deal with complications from the wound.
The legal case has resulted in more than 10 arrests, and it has since come out that Ortiz was not the intended target of an organized shooting.
It was a scary night when Ortiz was shot in the DR, but it seems that the Red Sox legend could be well on his way to a full recovery.
