The Red Sox will begin a three-game series vs. the lowly Orioles at Camden Yards on Friday night.
Andrew Benintendi gets the night off with Sam Travis taking his place in left field. It's been a frustrating season for Benintendi, who has hit just .185 since the All-Star break and admits he hasn't felt like himself at the plate this year.
J.D. Martinez and Mookie Betts will flip-flop positions as Martinez gets the start in right field and Betts leads off as the designated hitter. Another wrinkle is Alex Cora continuing to keep Christian Vazquez in the lineup and playing first base with Sandy Leon behind the plate.
David Price, who recently made waves for his criticism of Dennis Eckersley, will take the mound for the Red Sox. The left-hander will face off against fellow southpaw and the Orioles' most consistent arm, John Means.
