Red Sox vs. Blue Jays lineup: Andrew Cashner to make Boston debut after trade

Andrew Cashner will make his Boston Red Sox debut against the Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday night after being acquired via trade from the Baltimore Orioles over the weekend.

Cashner should provide much-needed depth at the back end of Boston's rotation, and his ability to eat up innings could provide valuable relief for the team's overworked bullpen. The veteran right-hander went 9-3 with a 3.83 ERA, a 1.19 WHIP and 66 strikeouts over 96 1/3 innings in 17 starts for Baltimore. That's a pretty good stat line for a pitcher on baseball's worst team.

Xander Bogaerts made unique Red Sox history in Monday night's win over the Blue Jays by recording one run, one hit and one RBI in seven consecutive games. Michael Chavis also hit the first grand slam of his young MLB career to power Boston to a 10-8 victory. Both of these talented young players will be in Tuesday night's lineup with Boston aiming to push its post-All Star break record above the .500 mark.

Here are the lineups for both teams.
