Boston Red Sox star Rafael Devers had a breakout 2019 season that vaulted him into the upper tier of third basemen in Major League Baseball.
The 22-year-old set career highs with a .311 batting average, 35 home runs, 115 RBI, 201 hits, 54 doubles and a .361 on-base percentage in 156 games.

The Red Sox would be wise to lock up Devers long-term with a contract extension in the near future, before he becomes too expensive to re-sign. Devers has proven to be a core player for the Red Sox, and one of the ideal pieces for the next president of baseball operations to build a winning roster around.
