Jon Lester may not be coming back, but the Red Sox have reportedly re-signed a different lefty, Craig Breslow, on a one-year deal for $2 million.
The deal comes as something of a surprise, as the Sox' rejected Breslow's $4 million option. But it seems that the price is right for the reliever, who look will look to rebound from a 2014 season where he struggled mightily, finishing with 5.96 era on 54.1 innings.
Pending a physical, Breslow will return to the Sox' bullpen, and will begin working toward retaining his 2013 form, where he had the second best era (1.81) of his career.
