Red Sox reveal fun, ‘Office'-related fact about Michael Chavis on Twitter

Since being called up by the Boston Red Sox, rookie Michael Chavis has seen fairly regular action. In 23 plate appearances in six games, Chavis is batting .222 and has clubbed two home runs while playing at both second and third base. He looks like a building block for the Red Sox' future, so the team wanted to allow the fans to get to know him better.

On Twitter before Saturday afternoon's game, the Red Sox revealed a fun fact about Chavis, one that relates to the popular TV show, "The Office".

For those that don't know, The Office's protagonist, played by Steve Carell, is named Michael Scott. He is the bumbling manager of paper company Dunder Mifflin and constantly gets into trouble for his antics both inside and outside the workplace. The comparison by name is comical, but hopefully, Chavis is a little bit less of a clubhouse distraction than Carell's character is on the show.

Now the Red Sox just have to hope they can lure Dwight Evans out of retirement so the team could have Michael and Dwight on the team. However, Evans' middle name is unfortunately not Schrute. It's actually Michael.
