Red Sox lineup: Martinez out again, Sale gets the start vs. Rays

The Boston Red Sox and Tampa Bay Rays are squaring off in the final game of their rain-shorted two-game series. After falling by a score of 2-1 on Saturday afternoon, the Red Sox will look to avoid being swept after sweeping the Rays in their first series of the year.

Chris Sale will pitch for the Red Sox on Sunday, and he is still looking for his first win after a rough start to the season. Sale has gone 0-4 with an astronomical 7.43 ERA. He has pitched well at times, but he has yet to put it all together. Christian Vazquez will look to get him back on track, as he catches and bats ninth on Sunday.

For the second straight day, J.D. Martinez will be out of the lineup. Martinez was a late scratch on Saturday as he dealt with back spasms. Steve Pearce will once again replace Martinez at the DH position. However, instead of batting fourth as he did yesterday, Pearce has been dropped to seventh in the order. He is hitting just .114 so far this season, with one home run, so Xander Bogaerts, Rafael Devers, and Michael Chavis will move ahead of him.

The Rays lineup is identical to the one they marched out yesterday with some minor changes in the field. Tyler Glasnow (4-0, 1.53 ERA) will get the start for them. He limited the Red Sox to two runs in 5 1/3 innings in his last start on April 21.

Here are the Sox and Rays lineups for the 1:05 start:

Andrew Benintendi, LF
Mookie Betts, RF
Mitch Moreland, 1B
Xander Bogaerts, SS
